According to a WNCN news article from Cary, North Carolina, three students were left with serious injuries after they were involved in an automobile accident. The students were in a Chevrolet Blazer that collided with a dump truck. The accident occurred on Highway 55 at McCrimmon Parkway on September 16th.
Accidents with large trucks are often more serious than other automobile accidents, involving only cars, because dump trucks and other heavy commercial vehicles carry a lot of weight. These vehicles are usually not able to come to a sudden stop, making it hard for the driver to prevent an accident. See our webpage about trucking accidents for more information on how these crashes can be more serious.
Passengers may have grounds for legal compensation, if the driver of the vehicle is found to be negligent. Also, trucking companies are held liable for their driver’s actions.
